I have done a few of these and am away fascinated on where are the best options, personally I look for value, rather than go for the glamour programs. But will touch option these programs as well. As if you have the money and you do want the option these are great. But, do think with the amount of countries opening up and developing you can get some sweet deals across the world for the average guy to lower tax or just improve lifestyle. Though one of these programs.
If its money and price then stay away from Europe.
Although I am a fan of Malta for 500,000 Euros if you have the money low tax nice place to live near the Med sea. This place is one of the top choices in the world due to the lifestyle and friendly tax program, as well as being non-visa to the E.U if you get the citizen program.
Montenegro being a hidden gem, beautiful scenery and pretty not to bad for a citizenship program 250,000 Euros to real estate projects in the Northern part of the country. It is not a bad option if you are looking for a nice quiet place to live. I reckon this place in the next 10 years will go up due to demand so a good time to get in now. I believe this is Europes hidden gem of programs.
For residency in West Europe
U.K is too expensive and too high tax. 2 million GBP, to invest in funds one of the highest in the world.
Greece has launch one but really not worth it in my option as you can have better Europeans one for the same price.
The same goes for Portugal, 500,000 real estate purchases or 250,000 Euro donation, this is personally not a bad option for those who are looking to retire in Europe. But, still when compared to Latin America and Asia program quite expensive.
Austria is the best for quality. But has some downside such as needing to speak the language (German) to a native level. But other than that only need 40,000 Euro of disposable and 10,000 Euros a child. Has a long waiting list.
The ones for high net worth in Europe are
Jersey, 125,000 GBP tax revenue on the Island, (so a net worldwide income of 625,000 GBP). And then with that, you have to get a property on the island, for 1.75 million. If you happen to have a net worth of $100 million (U.S) (and I am sure most people do reading this of course!) its not a bad option due to lifestyle low tax. But goes without question this is not the cheapest and for your average earner. Not bad if you want the English lifestyle without the tax.
Eastern Europe
These have better value Georgia, 100,000 USD in a property, an emerging place (where if you invest right) due to the rapid growth could get a lot of money. I just hope Armenia, bring out a similar program. I am a big believer of this program and think it will go up (like many in the region). So a good time to get in now.
Latvia, I guess it is okay if you’re looking at the price and just want a European residence 50,000 Euros in a company. and a one payment of 10,000 to the government.
Asia is my top pick, in terms of value and quality of life
Thailand – has it Elite visa (which I have got) you just need to but $16,000–$45,000 donation to Thai tourism and get, a 5–20-year visa. It comes with perks such as Limo pick up from the airport, golf packages and spa treatment not a bad deal. And it is fast super-fast 1 month compared to the 6 months waiting I normally have to do. Also, a benefit of this (and Malaysia) is that it doesn’t tax foreign income.
Malaysia – just put 75,000 USD in a local bank in MR, (I have this one) it a good one and it will go up as the place is a gem to be low tax (if you set a business up correctly) good health care, and very underrated place so would highly recommend looking to get in now before it does go up.
Philippines – has a 20,000 USD in local bank and current pretty quick, and not a bad option to retire.
Singapore – if you have the money my top pick, best in the world low tax and easy to do business. Not the cheapest at 1.5 million but not bad for what you get.
Latin America and central
Panama is the top option, just put 5,000 Euro is a bank and better still can get citizenship in 5 years if you live here.
Mexico – this has a property of $200,000 US or just an income of $1,500 popular for Americans and retirees.
Other great value, probably not the best to live but Nicaragua, $35,000 investment programs one the cheapest in the region and one of the few where you don’t have to show a monthly income.
North America
U.S refers to U.K expensive and doesn’t see the value, of investing $1.8 million to live in the U.S. Much better options for that amount.
Canada – a great program with a high quality of life, but getting very popular and expect backlog due to demand, and being more selective. There are actually several ways to get a Canadian program and believe it one is though neutralization through residency to earn citizenship. They have special programs in certain city’s and states as well. Although once this has been obtained you do not have to stay in these locations the Quebec program is one of these (see Vancouver for example with all the Chinese that have got on the Quebec program) and the provincial nominee programs but forgot about the average person getting these they are far too competitive.
The investor program, you just invest $1.2 Canadian dollars for 5 years at 0% interest or just be worth $2 million Canadian. This is the top in the world for lifestyle in my option for price but don’t expect it to be fast like the Caribbean programs (or as cheap).
Oceana
New Zealand – Well, if you are also looking for a good quality program and have no need to worry about $6 million US(Approx on conversion). Or $3 million NZ to be held in funds or assists.
This has been a popular choice, for those that are ultra wealth some noticeable cases are U.S billionaires and wealthy Chinese. It has a lot going for it just watch Lord of The Rings it like a three hour New Zealand, tourism clip just showing the breathtaking scenery. As, well it ranked one of the most livable places to be on the planet.
Australia – really this place has a good lifestyle no wonder some many Brits go here. Melbourne the best city to live. And just great beaches and nice weather.
They are like Canada, a few options, this say 20–30 years ago was pretty cheap and straight forward being about a 10th of the price it is at today.
The investment option (the most straight forward), $1.5 million Aus into state territory and a net worth of $2.25 million Aus. It must be held for at least 4 years in the bonds.
Or if you have a bit more cash to play around with just $5 million straight off investment in bonds for 4 years.
