But, how do you get a Dubai residency?
Dubai with its low taxes opens economic freedom looks like it will be here for a long time (even though the short slow down).
Many people have asked how to get residency there, with low taxes and wealth of opportunities and a lot growing economy its easy to see why a lot of people have to try to be based here from speaking to freelance oil consultants to architects, to independent construction project managers. All asking to be here to be part of the action.
How To Get a Visa?
Residence Option
You can purchase a residency in Dubai for over 1 million AED this is approx the value of 278,000 USD, it must be complete. This option will give you the right to have residency in the UAE for 2 years but not work.
Although it might seem a bit far fetched Dubai real estate may still be a good investment, although you are not going to get the 200% returns that you would have bought around the marina 10 years, ago but people have gone off the fizz of Dubai this has lead to pockets of still great areas for an investment if you do your research and is a great way to get residency if that is your plan here.
Company Option
You must set up a company in compliance with UAE rules and is registered within one of the free trade zones in the UAE. This option allows residency to the company shareholders and its employees.
This gives you a three-year plan and the option to do business in the area. The cost varies in regards to the business but is high (in the 10,000s thousand dollars).
Freelance Option
To register as a freelancer you must register with one of the free areas in Dubai. The cost varies depending on what area you go to (see the list below)

You will need the required documents, Education and Nature of business, Medical and Completed application form. The area which to go to is dependent on your business as some have some specialities.
This visa gives you the advantage of the local tax laws and paying only 5% on VAT on anything over 375,000 AED. This visa also allows you to put your spouse on as well.
