We have created the solution of expats you can invest. Due to demand, we have created a portfolio for expats that can’t invest in a simple way for expats to invest in that can’t find a platform in the U.K.

This is suitable for expat that can’t invest in their home country and they want to invest in a strong currency where the portfolio is geared towards growth but is also low cost. Here are the facts of the portfolio:

  • Comes in 3 currency options USD, GBP, EUR
  • Based in Luxembourg
  • Invest in low-cost specific ETFs that are undervalued index or a global economic shift to aim to beat active funds

What Type of Expat Would This Benefit?

This is for mainly expats that are looking for

  • Low-cost fees
  • Hands-off investment
  • Transparent platform and fees
  • Either has a lump sum or pension they want to utilise in a SIPP.
  • Have a risk profile and can withstand volatility
  • Have a long term investment time frame (0 plus years)

What Risk Level is The Portfolio?

Equities can go up as well as down, and if you are unsure about whether you would be comfortable with your investment going up and down at times then please get in touch and I can find an investment that suits your risk profile and appetite.

We have created a portfolio for those wanting a higher risk level, 7 out of 10 as weighted in equities. This should be for people looking for 7-8% and up returns (as judged by the Australian benchmark guideline) and should have 10+ years investment time frame.

Please get in touch if unsure about the risk profile.

How Does it Compare?

As I have written a lot of articles on platforms offshore I have come across and found that they are expensive and for the most part they don’t explain the fees well enough to expats and many expats end up paying a higher percentage than what they thought.

With most bond platforms you pay upfront fees, platforms fees 1.5% and funds fees 1.5% and advisor fees 0.5%-1% this can add up to 4-5% a year.

Even in the platforms fees you can get fund fees 1.5%+ and initial fee of 5% these include notes and platform fees 0.4%-1% and advisor fees.

Don’t just take my word for it here is an article from company that is not related to us or any investment platforms in any way.

We put in all these fees for a simple, easy and transparent cost to expats. This way investors actually increase the profit they make by reducing the fees they pay. As an example, if your fees are 5% and the portfolio does 10%, you only make 5% (not including inflation). With a lower fee of 1% but the same returns, you make 9% in the same year, again not including inflation in that.

December 2020 Market Update

Report after selling Ishares Mexico, after 25% return the last 3 months and Silver after the short term prospects look uncertain.

We have aimed for the FTSE 250 as believe it is presently undervalued, due to Brexit and Covid 19 in relation to other Index  and see pick up as the U.K economy grows in 2021, due to vaccination and stimulus growth that will incur in the U.K

While, information Technology is up 17.8% YTD, but believe with the new way of shift economy this sector will continue to grow. One aspect to look out for is the FANG stocks, being overvalued, that can be seen in my article on 2020 of the rises of the tech stocks, but the sector is still growing and adapting with a shift with the work from home will look promising for this sector in 2021.

Asia, coming out of lockdown with the biggest economy China having growth this year of 6% back to on track 2019 predictions it is set to be one of the world’s winners in 2021. While other Asian tech stocks such as Tencent have yet to see a rally as with their American competitors, Yet they have made growth in SEA accusations and regional HQs looking for growth.

Japan, I have written a few articles on Japan the stagnant economy is now underweighted. Although, believe it is one to keep a close eye on. With a new prime minister Suga, can he carry on Abe’s economics? The NIKKE 225 has been one of the least underwhelming sectors in the last 2020 years mainly due to debt to GDP aging population and regional competition, but Japan has seen a surge in Q3, and believe to be an underweighted Index.

Why Have I Created This?

To be honest, i’m fed up of seeing expats paying too much for underperforming investments because some poorly financially educated advisor takes a great commission on peoples hard earned cash and pensions. It’s not just about the money, if people lose their pension, it can be catastrophic consequences for them.

This is why I created this portfolio for expats who want a hands off, low cost and transparent fees which they have no formal commitment too and is geared for growth.

The money is not pooled like a fund, it is a ready made portfolio that an investor invests in.

For this portfolio, I will be investing my own money in to it also so I can keep track of it’s progress against it’s benchmark.

What To Do Next

If you are interested in this option, please contact me via the contact form at the bottom of this page with the subject of Portfolio. I will then reply, set up a call with you to make sure that it is a suitable option for you to invest and then I will email you the paperwork required to be invested.

We are going to open the portfolio up to 10 investors only to start on the 5th January 2021 so that we can test our processes and ensure everything is smooth, after that we will open it to all investors.

A lot of the time, I suggest a test payment to the account to make sure it’s all functioning and you are happy with it before we invest the full amount.
